Hi! I’m Deanna - I am a licensed Speech Language Pathologist, certified Structured Literacy Dyslexia Interventionist, and certified Special Education teacher!

I worked in the public school system for almost 10 years. I spent the majority of that time working with students with special needs, including children with Dyslexia, Autism Spectrum Disorder, ADHD, and more. I firmly believe every child can learn if you meet them where they are and show them you believe in them!

When I’m not teaching, you can find me on my Peloton bike or Tread, or playing with my mini Goldendoodle, Louie.

Hi there! I’m Alicia Lopez, and I’ve spent over 7 years helping K–8 kids in homeschool co-ops, small groups, and one-on-one settings. I believe learning is a lifelong journey, and reading is the key that opens the door. My goal is to help every child build strong reading skills so they can explore the world with curiosity and pursue their dreams with confidence.

I’m also the Virtual Specialist for Sunshine Literacy, where I focus on making online learning just as fun and engaging as a real classroom. I believe in building strong relationships with my students—where they feel seen, heard, and understood—because that’s where real learning begins.

I’m a proud Texas native who loves exploring new places with my four kids, going on little adventures, and soaking up sweet moments like cozy movie nights with popcorn and cuddles!

Hi everyone! I’m Angelina, and I’ve spent the last 10 years working in education. As a special education teacher, I worked with hundreds of students to develop their academic success and confidence. With my incredible team, our students were recognized for having the highest learning gains in our district and leading inclusion initiatives. I still maintain my teaching certificate, with certification that includes Exceptional Student Education, Elementary Education K-6, Speech-Language Impaired, Reading, and ESOL. 

While teaching, in order to better support my students, I earned my master’s degree in Communication Science & Disorders through Florida State University.  I love being an SLP and treating both spoken (hearing/speaking) and written (reading/writing) language skills! Developing relationships and celebrating success are the keys to keeping kids engaged and motivated!

Outside of education, I love traveling and spoiling my adorable puppy. I also enjoy reading, watching reruns of classic sitcoms, and trying new restaurants! 

I love being part of the Sunshine Literacy team because we use evidence-based practices and see success every day. I’m always happy to see my students and can’t wait to meet my future scholars!

Hi, I’m Angelika! I am the office manager here at Sunshine Literacy. I am currently studying Speech-Language and Communications Disorders at Nova Southeastern University. I am working towards being a Speech-Language Pathologist.

As I continue to pursue my studies, I am excited about the opportunity to contribute to the field and work with everyone’s unique needs!
